Devices The Rad-X Filter Protects

Advanced Power Filtration for
Diagnostic Imaging and Therapy Systems

Overview

The Rad-X Filter (“RXF”) offers a more suitable solution for safeguarding diagnostic imaging and therapy treatment equipment than conventional power conditioners and uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems. Each RXF unit is custom configured specifically for the equipment listed below and the final circuit that directly powers these devices.

Supported Modalities

  • Computed Tomography
  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging
  • Angiography
  • Image-guided Therapy
  • Hybrid OR
  • Radiation Therapy
  • Molecular Imaging
  • Nuclear Medicine
  • Radiography
  • Fluoroscopy
  • Mammography
  • Surgical C-Arms

Benefits

Implementing RXF results in several operational advantages, including reduced equipment downtime, fewer service calls, decreased need for replacing electronic components, minimized intermittent issues or system lockups, and increased longevity of X-ray tubes.

Technical Features

The RXF is designed as a low-pass, bi-directional, pi-configuration power filtration system that utilizes reactors and capacitors, along with transient voltage surge suppression (TVSS). Its primary function is to attenuate high frequency electrical noise and low voltage impulses through three main mechanisms:

  1. It prevents electrical noise generated by the protected equipment itself (load-generated) from echoing back into the equipment.
  2. It blocks electrical noise produced by external sources (line-generated) from infiltrating the protected equipment.
  3. It stops electrical noise generated by the protected equipment from affecting other devices on the same electrical circuit.

Additional Capabilities

In addition to attenuating high frequency electrical noise and low voltage impulses, the RXF effectively suppresses power spikes, transients, low frequency impulses, and even lightning strikes.

Installation and Warranty

The RXF is wall-mounted, preserving valuable floor space. It is backed by a five-year warranty, and there is no requirement for a service contract.
