If I already have a UPS or power conditioner, will the Rad-X Filter® still help?
Yes. Even with a UPS or power conditioner, your system can still be exposed to damaging electrical noise. The Rad-X Filter® adds a critical layer of protection not provided by those devices.
Why haven’t I heard of the Rad-X Filter® or APQS before?

What’s the difference between the Rad-X Filter® and the Rad-X Mini?
Both models use the same proven filtration architecture, but they serve different power applications:
Rad-X Filter®: Designed for high-powered systems (480 or 277/480V, 80–425A) like CT, MRI, Cath Labs, and Linear Accelerators.
Rad-X Mini: Sized for lower voltage applications (120/240V, 20–30A), such as Ultrasound, Mammography, Nuclear Medicine, and Bone Density systems.

How often does the Rad-X Filter® need maintenance or service?
Rad-X Filters require minimal maintenance. We recommend refurbishment approximately every 10 years or if the filter is being repurposed for a different imaging device.
Who installs or activates the Rad-X Filter®?
Your facility’s engineering staff or contracted electricians can install the unit using the detailed instructions provided. Remote phone support is also available to assist.

What happens to the filter if I sell my imaging system?
In many cases, the filter can be reconfigured and reused with another imaging or therapy system—new or existing.

What is the lead time for delivery?
Typical lead time is 12+ weeks after receiving your order and completed configuration forms. Please note this may vary due to economic conditions and supply chain availability.
On February 28, 2017, APQS activated a Rad-X Filter that was purchased and installed by the hospital in an attempt to remediate this specific problem.
Immediately following the activation of the Rad-X Filter we have had zero call backs in regards to this problem.
When I estimate Elekta’s “cost of service”, before and after Rad-X Filter activation, the difference is substantial.
